One happy family

When my friend immigrated with her husband, she was having a fiancée visa which means she needed to be wed within a specific time. With that, her husband asked the help of a lawyer to speed up the process of my friend’s visa. But one of the requirements for the speedy visa processing was the wedding. So, they asked the pastor of the church on where her husband would always visit, that if possible, he can perform the wedding ceremony. To make a long story short, everything went well with the wedding of my friend. And that’s from wedding outfits for women, the outfit for the men, for the kids, for the wedding sponsors, to the giveaways, bridal car, wedding reception, and honeymoon.

As of the moment, my friend is already a citizen and she’s blessed with a handsome baby. Soon, she and her family are planning to visit her family back home. And I guess it will be this year or early next year. Anyway, I am so happy for my friend’s success in life.

Staying Home

This guest post from Lenny Mcknight

It’s always been in the cards for me to be a stay at home mom, I think. I wanted for the longest time to settle down and have kids and I’ve finally got that wish and I’m just so thankful that Benji’s job affords us the opportunity to stay at home and watch the kids when he’s working. I love being with my kids all the time and staying on top of things like Texas home security and whether or not the dog’s been walked and how much water the plants need. Anyway, I feel like I’m finally right where I’m supposed to be and that I’m going to be really happy as a stay at home mom for the rest of my life, well, at least until the kids go off to school. I think when they hit middle school I may get a job as a receptionist or something at the front so I won’t ever have to be far from them – my babies are my whole entire life!

Give kids your precious time

When I visited FB, I happened to read this quote in which I’ve already known before but it slept my mind. This saying is “your children need your presence rather than your presents”. This is always true that children appreciate more of the parents’ presence rather than receiving expensive gifts. Wish I do have more time for my kids.

Living with best friend

This guest post from Mickey Garza

When I went off to school, I decided to live with my best friend. Everyone told me it was a bad idea, but I didn’t listen. I wish I had. I thinking living together put some serious tension on our relationship and I hope we are able to recover. The big fighthappened over something very little. However, I think it was all the little things added together that caused our last fight to be such a big one. Basically, I told her I thought we were paying too much on our utilities, but she assured me we were paying the lowest possible. When I went to www.texaselectricityproviders.com and proved she was wrong, she didn’t take that very well. She was first mad I went behind her back. Then she was mad I didn’t trust her. While I can see her side, I don’t really understand it. She was wrong and I was helping us. I am sure there is more to it than that, but I can only tell you what I know. I hope we recover, but I guess only time will tell.

Happy Halloween blast

I have been searching for my cousin who also married a foreigner and is now living abroad. When I visited one of my relative’s profiles and checked for her friend’s list in my favorite social networking website, I found out that my cousin Linda was on her list. So, I added her and from that time on I often will check on her whereabouts.

Last Halloween, Linda and her friends in her community had a party. Each and every one wore nice costumes. For my cousin, since she’s a bit big, she chose one of the beautiful plus size costumes. And I loved her attire since it looked good on her. I even commented on her photo that she’s so beautiful in which it’s kind of reverse with what was the theme for Halloween. But that’s fine because she also looked so sexy with what she’s wearing. And all of her friends looked so lovely as well. I bet they had happy Halloween blast during that time because it showed on their faces in all of the photos that my cousin shared.

I miss my cousin Linda so much. I am wishing to see her and her family in the coming years.

Football watching rules

Contribution by Saul Martin

Football season is upon us. This means Sundays full of sitting on the couch watching football games. While most Sundays I like to be alone enjoying the game, there is the occasional Sunday that I invite friends to watch with me. I know it sounds like I am a hermit, but some people do not take football seriously enough. First off, there is no talking while the game is in progress. I don’t care if the announcer is cute or if the guy in the crowd looks ridiculous. No talking! Second off, there is no cheering for the opposing team. Do not watch a game with me, if you want the other team to win. That is just rude! Some people just do not understand how much I get into all of it. I have to have football in surround sound. I want to feel like I am there. I also have to have it in High Definition. However, since high definition is an added extra, I only turn it on for the games by going to http://ExpertSatellite.com each Sunday. I know this is cheap of me, but what can I say. I guess I am just a cheap, football loving, hermit.

XP points?

The members of the family don’t need material things. What everybody needs is the TIME from the head of the family. But there are others who love to just play online so as to have their XP points. Why not make XP points in playing with kids or talking heart to heart to the wife? It’s just so….GRRR!

Living Apart

Guest written by our friend Katie Callahan

My mom and I really hate living so far apart but we try to come up with ways to make the distance seem like less. For example, not too long ago we both got DIRECTstarTV.com satellite and now we have a standing weekly appointment to watch a movie we’ve been wanting to see on one of the premium channels. That way we can talk about it afterwards and it doesn’t feel like we live so far, afterall! I really wish I could afford to fly out to Texas more than about twice a year but it gets really expensive and I don’t have a ton of time off work, anyway. I love what I do but I sure wish it was in Texas with mom and gave me a little more flexibility! I’m trying to come up with another way we can stay in touch and I think a cooking classmight be the answer…we’ll see! Either way, mom loves chatting with me every day and I need it, too!

Missing the Japanese pears

My favorite part of Costco store several months ago. Why? It was because my favorite fruit was place in here and that’s no other than the Japanese pears which were in season. ARGHHH! I miss this fruit a lot because it’s the only thing that I craved ever since the start of my pregnancy with my 2nd child. Just imagine I was living with eating Japanese pears for my breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner! I will even cry if ever my loves will not buy this fruit for me. Sigh!
